Elizabeth Shein, Intern
Massapequa Park and Telehealth Elizabeth is in her third year of the Doctoral School Psychology program at Adelphi University. Along with receiving her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Purchase College where she graduated with Honors, Elizabeth is certified in Early Childhood Development.
In her recent position as a Student Therapist at the Derner Hempstead Child Clinic, Elizabeth aimed to refine her skills as a practitioner while providing students with a safe space to navigate through their inner conflicts. At Derner as well as at other previous employment sites, Elizabeth has worked with children of all ages between the Preschool and College years. Elizabeth's philosophy in working with children includes trying to understand what the child struggles with, their strengths, helping them to identify healthy coping skills, and working collaboratively with the child and their parents in order to best guide the family through the difficulties that the child experiences. Elizabeth places a strong emphasis on building positive client relationships at the forefront of her work in order to create a space where clients can feel comfortable working through their vulnerabilities. Elizabeth is a student intern and sees clients at a reduced rate under the supervision of Dr. Eric Walter. She will be at Wavelengths until July 2024. |
💕 Why Choose Our Student Counselors?
- Reduced Rate: We believe that mental health support should be accessable to as many people as possible. Our reduced rates make counseling more affordable, so you can prioritize your well-being without breaking the bank.
- Quality Care and Individualized Attention: Our student counselors take a very limited number of clients so that they can devote sufficient time and attention to each person they see. In addition, between sessions they receive supervision and guidance on the work they are doing with you
- Fresh Perspectives: Working with a student counselor can bring new perspectives and approaches to your counseling journey. Their training and education are up-to-date with the latest developments in the mental health field.
- Confidentiality: Just like with our licensed professionals, your sessions with our Student Counselors are strictly confidential.
